Waiting Is Not Passive, It’s an Active Step of Faith

A few weeks ago there was a new song released by Elevation Worship and Maverick City Church called ‘Wait on You’. I’ve found myself playing this over and over and remembering the promises that God has made over my life and the lives of so many people that I know.

The lyrics repeat Isaiah 40:31 over and over in a variety of ways. There are some words that are sung out in the background throughout this song that stand out to me:

“Oh, it's the least I can do, is wait on You …

Instead of trying in your own strength, you should just wait …

Stay right there, stay right there!

Somebody worship while you wait …

Instead of calculating what would happen if you go wrong, you should just wait … ”

This waiting is not passive, it is an active step of faith, yet not moving until the positioning is right. This is certainly true for Roaring Hope. You may also find yourself in this season at the moment.

Be encouraged and don’t run ahead of what God is doing. Those who wait on the Lord will rise up on wings like eagles, we will walk and not grow weary, we will run and not be faint.
